Course:

Your Psychological First Aid Kit

In this course, we will help you learn skills needed to help you support your wellbeing in challenging times. Over the course of three modules, we’re going to take you through the concept of your Psychological First Aid kit and think about what you can add to your kit to help keep you well.

This course is based on training courses developed by Lifelines Scotland – an NHS Lothian-based project providing training and support materials to everyone in Scotland’s blue light community. Visit the Lifelines Scotland website to find out more about their work.

  • Module 1: Emotional Wellbeing

In this module we’re looking at your emotional wellbeing. We’ll provide you with an understanding of what can affect your emotional wellbeing and some of the things you can do to improve it.

  • Module 2: Understanding Stress

In this module we’re going to explore our understanding of stress and why this matters. We’ll help you understand your own early warning signs for stress and what these mean, so you can take action.

  • Module 3: Your PFA Kit

In this module we’re going to focus on some of the things which may already be in your Psychological First Aid Kit, which you can draw on when times get tough, as well as some tools you might want to add.
