Saturday the 10th of September is World Suicide Prevention day, and the theme this year is “Creating Hope Through Action”. Often, two of the most meaningful actions that can be taken in preventing suicide are talking and listening.
If you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts, it might feel daunting to take that step of opening up and talking about them. You might be worried that no one will want to listen, or you might be worried about burdening someone else with your problems. But there is always someone who wants to listen.
Below you will find the contact details for the Samaritans and Breathing Space. Both of these organisations have trained listeners on hand to support you – they are there to listen to you, without judgement.
Suicide crises don’t begin and end with World Suicide Prevention Day, so these details are always available on our Services for You page.
