Reflective Practice: an introductory toolkit

Reflective Practice: an introductory toolkit

Reflective Practice is one way in which you can support your staff; enhancing their wellbeing while supporting them in continuing their professional development. You may have heard of Reflective Practice but not be too sure what it involves, or you may have an idea of what is involved but are unsure of how to go about getting started.

Put simply, Reflective Practice is the process of actively considering your experiences to identify things that have gone well or badly; helping you replicate positive outcomes or avoid negative outcomes in the future. Reflective Practice groups involve bringing staff together to allow them to share and learn from each other’s experiences.

To help get you started with Reflective Practice groups, we have produced an introductory toolkit. The toolkit is intended for anyone working in Health and Social Care in Scotland interested in Reflective Practice or considering implementing it within their organisation, service or team, and provides an overview of what Reflective Practice is, what you’ll need to provide Reflective Practice Groups, and some considerations that will need to be made along the way. Follow the link below to download the toolkit.
