Tuesday 23rd June, 10:00am – 11:30am
The objectives for the course are:
• To reflect on the ways we are active and explore perceptions of physical activity
• To raise awareness of the health benefits of physical activity and how moving more can benefit health and wellbeing
• To identify barriers to physical activity and ways of overcoming these
• To explore ways of bring movement and activity into our day and raising it with the people we support
• To provide signposting opportunities.

Tuesday 23rd June, 10:00am – 10:45am
We know that different things impact women’s wellbeing in the workplace. This includes experiences of sexual harassment, challenges managing caring responsibilities, lack of support around menopause and menstrual health, and feeling undervalued. This session will look at how we can better support women in the workplace, what changes need to be made and how this links to the need for wider gender equality.

A brief look at how we recognise, respect and respond to the impact of trauma on the workforce.

Tuesday 23rd June, 11:00am – 12:00pm
Explores the evidence-based connection between team wellbeing, happiness, and performance, highlighting how team experience drives outcomes such as productivity, resilience, and retention. Focusing on the pivotal role managers and team leads play in shaping day-to-day work through their behaviours and decisions, and includes guided reflection to help participants assess their own team environment and identify one simple, practical action to improve wellbeing in their area.

Advertising the availability of one of the national programmes, the Workforce Specialist Service (WSS), a service for regulated practitioners working in healthcare. So far, the service has treated over 2000 people from NHSScotland, Health and Social Care.

Tuesday 23rd June, 11:00am – 12:00pm
Online Carer Awareness & Support session by Carers Scotland to improve understanding of carers’ challenges and how to support them.
Patricia Clark, Development and Training Manager, Carers Scotland, will deliver an online Carer Awareness & Support session, which is a perfect opportunity to help build an understanding of the challenges carers face and how they can be better supported.
Key topics:
· Better identifying and understanding of carers in the workplace
· Learning about key carers rights, including workplace rights
· Building knowledge of how carers can be supported in the workplace, e.g. good practice, carer friendly policies
· Understanding how carers can be supported outside the workplace – statutory support, 3rd sector, health & wellbeing, practical & financial support
Let’s work together to ensure no carer feels invisible at work and promote a positive work culture where carers feel understood and supported.

Tuesday 23rd June, 12:00pm – 12:45pm
A half-hour practical, guided session for Scotland’s health and social care workforce to pause, breathe and reset—with simple breathwork and relaxation techniques that can be used straight away, no experience needed.
Fiona Douglas, Wellbeing Lead at the Scottish Ambulance Service, will facilitate this session, aimed at offering participants time out of their normal day to focus on their own wellbeing.
The session will be an interactive workshop, including breathwork, a progressive muscle relaxation and focused time to recharge, leaving participants with tools they can continue to use after the session to improve their own wellbeing.
No equipment or previous experience is necessary, this will be a very informal session, everyone is welcome.
Fiona will stay on the call at the end of the 30 minute practical session to take feedback and answer any questions participants might have about the role breathwork and mindfulness can play in health and wellbeing, and her experiences of using these techniques in a workplace setting.

Tuesday 23rd June, 1:00pm – 2:00pm
This session will introduce the suite of mental health services provided at NHS 24, will talk about the Breathing Space service (free phone line and webchat service to anyone aged 16+ living in Scotland) and share a bit about the partnership and engagement activity that the Breathing Space Coordination Team are involved with across Scotland. This session is delivered to colleagues, workplaces and with community groups/organisations across the county.

Tuesday 23rd June, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion, if you want to be happy, practice compassion” Dahli Lama
Foundation session to consider what keeps us well, what threatens our wellbeing in our roles and what protects us.
Content is evidence based practice informed by a team of clinicians, experts in the field of traumatic stress, with over 25 years of working with those in high risk roles.

Tuesday 23rd June, 2:00pm – 3:00pm
This session will visit the Values Based Reflective Practice (VBRP®) model. VBRP® offers the worker a safe space to look at what is going on for them and to think in different ways about their working life. There will be an introduction to the model, its benefits for both the team and the individual and the opportunity for some reflective practice in real time.

Tuesday 23rd June, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
This session on compassionate leadership will support participants to:
• Explore some current thinking about compassionate leadership.
• Identify some key skills and behaviours that support compassionate leadership.
• Understand why compassionate leadership is important in the workplace today.
• Reflect on why self-compassion is an important component of compassionate leadership
• Have an awareness of some tools and resources to support both compassionate leadership and self-compassion
